For many people returning from incarceration in Washington, D.C., Ingrid Mahogany is the first touchpoint into a new life. Ingrid is the community outreach coordinator for Jubilee Housing, an organization committed to achieving justice through housing that is affordable and located in thriving neighborhoods. Ingrid is the face of Jubilee’s Reentry Transitional Housing Program, where she uses compassion, kindness and accountability to support people’s path back home. Ingrid says when it comes to returning citizens, we too often ask what they have done rather than what happened to them. We must change the way we view each other and recognize the underlying pain and struggle that needs to be addressed. This is why Ingrid Mahogany is the “Champion Healer”!
