With your help and ours, United South End Settlements (USES) will be able to continue supporting our community through the current crisis, as it has supported individuals and families for the past 128 years.
As of February 2020, over 33% of the children living in the South End of Boston were from families surviving below the poverty line, with the majority of their parents being immigrants, single parents, and people of color.
That number is undoubtedly much higher now. Our families – the people we pass on the sidewalk, and many of whom form the basis of our society’s infrastructure – are unable to pay for their own rent, food, medical bills, car payments, clothing, and more. In many cases, the despair is palpable.
Since mid-March the staff at United South End Settlements has been laboring endlessly to bring aid to these families. Unfortunately, COVID-19 also disrupted USES's ability to hold their largest annual fundraiser. They need our help now.
Please help us by supporting our newly established neighbor2neighbor (n2n) Fund for Families. With a mission to not only bring immediate need to those who most need it, but to also harness the power of our diverse community in order to destroy the cycle of poverty for children and their families, we stand ready to make permanent changes, but we can’t do it alone.
