Scenic Rivers Land Trust is Adapting & Expanding our Signature Event for 2020

We're challenging walkers, runners, and cyclists of all ages and abilities to join us in our efforts to conserve our county's natural, open spaces by getting out and enjoying our beautiful, scenic county—by walking, running, or biking—during the month of October and raising funds on our behalf!

Walk & Ride for the Woods Challenge

Set a goal, tell your friends and family, and raise some funds to protect our community’s special places!

Maybe your goal will be to hike every trail in Bacon Ridge Natural Area. Or cycle 100 miles throughout south county…or 400 miles! Or, maybe it will be to mountain bike in Bacon Ridge every day (that the trails are dry) for a month? Or complete each of the Scenic Rivers self-guided hikes of Bacon Ridge with your family? Or maybe a combination of all of the above?

Raise Funds, Win Prizes

Raising funds to support Scenic Rivers' mission to protect Anne Arundel County's natural, open lands is simple.

You can make a direct donation from this page or you can build your own personal fundraising page. Launch your personal 2020 Walk & Ride for the Woods fundraising page by clicking on the green "Become a Fundraiser" button on this page. Follow the prompts, customize your fundraising page (don't forget to share why conserving our natural, open lands is important to you), and share it with friends via social media and email!

Everyone who raises $25+ is eligible to receive a 2020 Walk & Ride for the Woods t-shirt featuring the unique, custom art of local illustrator Phyllis Saroff! Adult and youth sizes are available.

Walkers, runners, and cyclists raising funds for Scenic Rivers will be awarded with fun, Scenic Rivers-custom prizes for achieving fundraising milestones. Fundraising levels and awards are as follows:

For more than 30 years, Scenic Rivers has worked with county landowners to permanently protect over 3,000 acres of land through conservation easements. Healthy forests and wetlands help stop pollution from entering our rivers and the Chesapeake Bay. By protecting undeveloped, environmentally sensitive areas, we are contributing to the larger Bay cleanup effort and keeping attractive natural spaces in our community.
